Mini excavator installation must read: key considerations for boom and component installation

Feb 5th,2025 150 Views
In the installation of the mini excavator, the correct installation of the boom and components is the key link to ensure the performance and safety of the equipment. Next, we will explain in detail the multiple aspects that need to be paid attention to when installing the boom and components of the mini excavator.
Preparation before installation
Nuts in place: Place the boom and server connection nuts in the designated position to ensure that they are placed firmly and prepare for subsequent connection work. This step may seem simple, but the correct placement of the nuts is related to the stability of the entire boom connection, and any negligence may cause deviations in subsequent installation.
Boom cylinder pipe processing and pipeline operation: After the nut placement is completed, the mini excavator is inspected and the boom cylinder pipe is closed. When the oil level in the hydraulic oil filter element rises above the oil level limit, the pipeline is started. This process requires strict monitoring of the oil level, because the appropriate oil level is the basis for ensuring the normal operation of the pipeline and the stable operation of the subsequent hydraulic system. Insufficient oil may cause unstable pressure in the pipeline and affect the normal operation of the equipment.
Key points of the installation process
Connection of the boom and bucket components: After starting the relevant components, the car engine and boom hydraulic cylinder enter the retractable state. At this time, use a crane to insert the connecting pin between the boom hydraulic cylinder and the server into the pin hole. During operation, ensure that the crane is lifted smoothly and the connecting pin is inserted accurately into the pin hole to avoid jamming or misalignment. Similarly, when installing the connecting pin between the bucket and the bucket hydraulic cylinder, the oil pipeline of the bucket hydraulic cylinder must be opened first to ensure the smooth flow of hydraulic oil and provide power support for the normal operation of the bucket.
Fixing of telescopic arms and arm components: Safety issues are crucial when disassembling and assembling telescopic arms and arm components. 12# galvanized steel wire rope must be used to fix the tail end of the arm cylinder and the hydraulic cylinder of the boom cylinder to the corresponding hooks. This is because during the disassembly and transportation process, if the hydraulic cylinder is not fixed properly, it is very easy to stretch, bend or damage, and 12# galvanized steel wire rope has sufficient strength and toughness to effectively ensure the safety of the hydraulic cylinder.
Line and oil pipe processing
Marking and storage: When disassembling and assembling electrical lines and high-pressure oil pipes, be sure to mark them well. You can use tools such as labels and markers to clearly mark the connection position and function of each line and oil pipe to prevent connection errors during installation. Once the connection is wrong, it may cause serious problems such as circuit short circuit and hydraulic oil leakage, affecting the normal operation of the equipment and even causing safety accidents. At the same time, small parts such as pins, locks, oil pipelines and special screws should be properly and safely stored, and they should be classified and placed in special containers or tool boxes to avoid confusion and loss, so as to ensure that they can be quickly found and used during subsequent installation.
Protective measures
Crawler hydraulic press torque converter protection: During the lifting and transportation of the mini excavator, the two crawler hydraulic press torque converters should be protected with special covers. The crawler hydraulic press torque converter is an important part of the equipment's walking system. It is prone to collision during transportation. Once damaged, it will affect the excavator's walking stability and work efficiency.
Overall protection: In order to prevent the equipment from being damaged by external factors during transportation or storage, such as scratches, rain erosion, etc., it can be wrapped in a waterproof tarpaulin. The waterproof tarpaulin can play a good protective role and extend the service life of the equipment.
Post-installation inspection
Maintenance and inspection: After all booms and components are assembled, the hydraulic excavator needs to be fully maintained and inspected. The inspection includes but is not limited to whether the connections of each component are firm and the screws are tightened; whether there is leakage in the hydraulic system and whether the oil pressure is normal; whether the circuit system is connected correctly and whether each electrical component can work normally. Through careful inspection, potential problems can be discovered and solved in time to ensure that the mini excavator can be put into use safely and stably.
