There are many reasons for the cracking of the excavator's arms.
1. Using a bucket that exceeds the original bucket capacity. For example, a 10-ton excavator uses a bucket of more than 20 tons, which will cause the arms to be overloaded and work abnormally and crack, so each model should use a bucket with the original bucket capacity.
2. The driver's operation method is incorrect. Excessive force when digging hard and heavy objects, hard digging, using the excavator as a crane, and lifting heavy objects are all causes of cracking of the excavator's arms.
3. Continuous long-term work load is too large, causing fatigue damage, especially in mining work, cracking of the arms is more common, and do not work overloaded for a long time.
The mine has a large workload, which may cause the excavator to break its arms.
So what should I do if the excavator's arms are cracked?
1. The welding area must be cleaned before welding;
2. Preheating must be performed before welding;
3. Appropriate welding materials must be selected during welding;
4. Welding must ensure penetration;
Clean up before welding, that is, remove the original cracked weld meat, grind it with a cross-phase grinder or use carbon arc air gouging if conditions permit, but the iron oxide must be polished clean after gouging. If possible, it is also necessary to preheat 100 degrees at the welding position. Then use a 3.2J507 electrode to weld, stop welding after a while, and use a hammer to knock the weld and the edge of the weld. After the welding is completely completed, keep knocking with a hammer until the weld is basically cooled. The purpose is to release welding stress, because heat treatment is impossible after welding. Welding must ensure penetration. If the gap at the weld position is large, a backing plate can be added inside.
The welding rod model is very important. If you want to understand what material it is, you have to take some iron foam for testing, and it will come out once tested, and then you can allocate welding rods according to the composition. J507 welding rod is enough, with a tensile strength of 50 kg. It is just a kind of structural steel. If you have used 507 before and it can ensure penetration and cracks, it is recommended that you change to J607, which should be enough.
In general, since the fracture situation of each excavator is different, we give the following example, which can basically explain most of the situations.
The fractured part is a little in front of the ear seat of the boom cylinder. It is not recommended to continue working to prevent further tearing and safety accidents.
Step 1, cut off 180mm to 200mm of the side plate on the left and right of the fracture, and cut off about 150mm more of the cover plate below on the basis of the width cut off the side plate.
Step 2, lay the lining plate under the broken cover plate, weld it, and weld the cracks of the cover plate together. The welding process should be smooth and no bubbles are generated.
Step 3, after welding, according to the side plate in step 1, cut a piece of iron plate according to the size and weld it on, and put a lining plate inside. The lining plate should be longer than the sealed side plate.
Step 4: After finishing the previous step, the only thing left is the bottom cover. Before sealing the bottom cover, you should first apply the lining board. Why do you apply the lining board? Why do you always apply the lining board? Applying the lining board is simple, rough and effective. After applying the lining board and sealing the bottom plate, the repair work is basically completed. Next, you can polish, putty and paint.
